Position Description
This position announcement is for Administrative Services Officer 3 - Office of Fleet Management (OFM), a full-time Civil Service position in the Metro General Services department. This position coordinates, plans, participates and monitors a variety of administrative and management services essential to the daily operations of Fleet Management. This position title will be utilized in various sections of Fleet Management. Performs other duties as required.
The men and women in Metro’s General Services Department are there to make sure the rest of government works. From ensuring that our city’s vehicles run safely and smoothly, to keeping city buildings up to par to providing printing services and more, General Services is the support that allows other Metro departments to focus and achieve their missions.
Typical Duties
Create, track, monitor, and dispatch all work orders on vehicle and equipment repairs.
Schedule and monitor scheduled maintenance and/or equipment repairs within the fleet information system.
Ensure work order notes documentation is updated regularly with real time status.
Develop and present a variety of Fleet Maintenance and financial related reports to include research, analysis and preparation of reports on the status of vehicle and/or equipment repairs and recommends solutions to expedite the process.
Coordinate repairs with Metro contractors.
Ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.
Communicate with over 30 Metro agencies as services and repairs are needed to assigned vehicles.
Monitor staff productivity and assist in development of performance measures for program and employee performance.
Lead, direct or supervise a small group of employees as well as review and approve time and attendance.
Assist Division Managers in budget preparations, various reports and communications with staff using multiple systems to provide analyses on a regular basis and assist management in developing long and short-range goals and objectives for better operating efficiency.
Coordinate and participate in various Fleet related training.
May be required to be on-call for various events.
These services will be performed at either OFM locations.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree and Two (2) years of professional experience in an administrative or technical field.
Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education
LICENSE REQUIRED: Valid Driver License

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience using Faster Fleet or similar Fleet information system
Proficient in Microsoft Office Software to include Excel, Word, and Power Point
Experience planning and organizing comprehensive business and administrative services
