Vanderbilt University Athletics Facilities and Event Management Game Day Assistant, Part-Time in Nashville, Tennessee

The Vanderbilt University Athletics Facilities and Event Management Department is looking to hire motivated individuals with an interest in athletics facility management and event operations. This position is responsible for assisting with the execution of home events. This is part-time, flex position (not benefit eligible) and is paid at the rate of $10/hour

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide operational support to the Event Manager during all aspects of assigned events

• Assist with setup and breakdown for assigned athletic events (football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, lacrosse, cross country, track, bowling, swimming, golf)

• Serve as liaison for visiting teams and officials at assigned events

• Collaborate with other departments during the execution of events

• Assist with special events as assigned, including set-up, execution, and breakdown

• Responsible for reviewing event protocols to obtain a working knowledge of operations

• Complete other duties as requested

Qualifications

• Commitment to working nights, weekends, and holidays determined by home event schedule

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Dependable team-oriented individual with a service attitude

• Available for seven Vanderbilt Football home games, as well as other athletics home events, such as basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and cross country/track

-2024 Home Football Schedule: Sat 8.31, Sat 10.26, Sat 9.7, Sat 11.9, Sat 10.5, Sat 11.30, Sat 10.19.

• Ability to lift up to approximately 50 pounds

• Background check will be required if selected

Preferred Qualifications

• Interested candidates currently enrolled at MTSU, Belmont, Lipscomb, Travecca or Cumberland University as an undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in pursuing a career in professional or collegiate athletics are encouraged to apply.
