Job Title: Finish Carpenter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled carpenter with experience in installation of doors and windows, reading blueprints, and concrete forming and placement. The ideal candidate will have a strong skillset in finish carpentry, the ability to drill and set door hardware, and perform layout for stairs and common rafters. Proficiency in crane signals and rigging, as well as effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Install doors and drill/set door hardware.

  • Install windows.

  • Perform layout for stairs and common rafters.

  • Read blueprints and utilize appropriate math skills for layout.

  • Form and place concrete footings, piers, walls, and columns.

  • Execute pump, place, and finish techniques for concrete.

  • Place concrete for slab on grade and elevated decks.

  • Use crane signals and rigging for material placement.

  • Organize, sequence, and perform assigned tasks within schedule.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of finish carpentry experience.

  • Ability to read blueprints and lay out work.

  • Proficiency in carpentry, construction, and blueprint reading.

  • Experience with concrete and foundation construction.

  • Knowledge of hardware, framing, and rough carpentry.

  • OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Foreman and/or leadership experience is highly preferred.

  • Willingness to learn concrete techniques.

  • Must have their own set of tools.

Work Environment

You will be joining a dynamic team, working Monday through Friday with the possibility of overtime. The work will be within a 50-mile radius of Nashville. We are looking to hire 5-10 carpenters between January and February. Interviews are available on select dates. Starting classes are on Mondays, and you must be OSHA 30 certified before starting work. The role offers competitive pay based on experience, ranging from $25 to $29 per hour.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Nashville, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $60320.00

Retirement - 10% of wages (Messer paid!) after working 160 hours will go towards retirement account

401k (do not match this since they have the 10% retirement plan)

PTO - receive 40 hours of PTO after working 2,000 regular hours (about 1 year)

Attendance incentive- 1 PTO day given per quarter if they meet attendance requirements (less than 2 unexcused absences per quarter)

They pay for employees to get their OSHA 30 if they don't have it- they will not be paid hourly to take the class, but Messer will cover the costs of the OSHA class. This must be completed before they start
