Actalent Construction Materials Technician in Nashville, Tennessee

Job Title: Construction Materials Technician

Job Description

We are looking for an entry-level construction materials technician to test concrete for slump, density, and moisture in the lab. You will receive in-house training from our experienced employees. Your responsibilities will include communicating with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractors, and others regarding construction site requirements, project specifics, and testing, observation, and inspection results. You will also transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Additionally, you will tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations through written and digital reports daily to the Project Manager. Duties also include maintaining and cleaning equipment, vehicles, and work areas, and possibly assisting with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites. Adherence to strict safety standards and clear documentation of findings and results are essential. You will be placed in progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Nashville, Tennessee.

Work Environment

Typical working hours are Monday-Sunday, ranging from 8-12 hour days. In the summer, expect more hours than in the winter. Due to the nature of the industry, there is no guarantee of a 40-hour work week. Availability after 40 hours is required.
