This a full-time onsite role located at TriStar Centennial Medical Center - 2300 Patterson St, Nashville, TN 37203.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Controller oversees the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Department. Responsibilities include the month-end close of three facility general ledgers and the preparation of the budget for three facilities. In addition, the Controller ensures the hospital maintains compliance with HCA accounting policy guides and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 hospital key controls as defined by HCA Corporate. The Controller also maintains ongoing staff training and provides ongoing financial training for all non-financial managers.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • CPA designation preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a CFO in a small hospital or as a Controller in a medium to large hospital or equivalent.

  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, database software and other financial systems

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Medicare and third-party payer knowledge required

What you will do in this role:

  • Oversee the day-to-day functions of the accounting department.

  • Direct the month-end close of facility general ledgers.

  • Oversee facility budget preparation.

  • Ensure assigned facilities are compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 hospital key controls as defined by corporate guidelines.

  • Review capital purchases for compliance with fixed asset accounting policy.

  • Prepare lease reviews and obtain approval for capital or operating leases in accordance with accounting for leases accounting policy guide.

  • Submit the Joint Annual Report to the THA and the State of TN for facilities on an annual basis.

  • Maintain compliance with all accounting policy guides.

  • Ensure statistical reporting compliance with all QMIRS reporting guidelines.

  • Provide on-going financial training for all non-financial managers.

  • Act as liaison for the facility with consolidated accounts payable.

  • Prepare and manage all internal and external financial audits.

  • Provide on-going staff training.

  • Perform annual job evaluations using the Performance Management Plan format.
