Army National Guard Units IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) (TITLE 32) in Nashville, Tennessee

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD0262000 and is part of the TN ARMY, National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 103 (Volunteer Chapter). Responsibilities As an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) (TITLE 32) GS-2210-11, you will perform a variety of network device configuration and connectivity tasks. Execute procedures and coordinates corrective action to optimize network performance. Install, configure and monitor tested and evaluated software packages that provide performance measurements of the WAN/LAN. Implement the standard configuration software loads for all network devices. Utilize benchmarks and performance measurement and evaluation data to manage network servers and data communication devices to support normal and surge workload. Work with technical support personnel in resolving critical problems. Use remote management software tools to maintain and update configuration, protocol and user/system files. Document and track change to configuration, protocol and user/system files. Execute appropriate action to ensure backup processes are completed. Evaluate the performance of network devices such as servers, workstations, and peripheral devices, and remote access systems. Coordinate the development and implementation of configuration management plans for complex LANs and WANs with supported elements to include headquarters staff elements, tenant activities, state government, regional operating activities and national agencies. Implement the standard operating procedures for all devices on the network. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-4 through E-9 / WO1 through CW4 or 0-1 through 0-4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training that provides a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enable the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that require the use of adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience equivalent to at least next lower grade or 36 months of specialized experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment.
