WTW Lead Solution Architect in Nashville, Tennessee

Description

The Lead Architect role is responsible for understanding the wider business strategies, objectives, priorities and issues with a view to ensuring that technology projects are fit for purpose. This involves designing, developing, delivering and embedding software solutions to address complex business issues, and providing technical leadership within the Business Technology department.

The Role

  • Strategic Planning and Vision:

  • Define and lead the architectural vision and strategy for CRB.

  • Align architectural strategies with the broader business goals and objectives of the company.

  • Ensure that the software architecture supports scalability, reliability, and performance needs in line with the growth and diversification strategies of the organization.

  • Architecture Design and Review:

  • Oversee the development of architectural frameworks and blueprints for all software applications within the portfolio.

  • Ensure that the architecture of new solutions integrates effectively with existing systems and infrastructure.

  • Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance to ensure consistency and quality in design across all development teams.

  • Innovation and Technology Leadership:

  • Identify emerging technology trends and evaluate their potential impact on the organization’s products and services.

  • Promote innovation within the software function by encouraging experimentation and the adoption of advanced technologies.

  • Drive initiatives that enhance the technical capabilities of the software portfolio.

  • Governance and Standards:

  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and methodologies.

  • Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with other executives and business leaders to understand their needs and ensure the architecture supports these requirements.

  • Communicate architectural plans and strategies effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Act as a technical advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations on technical challenges and opportunities.

  • Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor architects and senior developers within the division.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development among the technical staff.

  • Ensure the architectural team is equipped with the skills and tools necessary to meet business needs.

  • Project Oversight and Resource Allocation:

  • Oversee major projects, particularly those involving significant architectural changes or innovations.

  • Risk Management:

  • Proactively identify architectural risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Ensure that disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and aligned with the architectural framework.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is required. Experience can be substituted for Degree.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in senior roles on major application development, systems integration or data projects (e.g. application architect, data architect)

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • IT specialist with complementary business skills and commercial acumen.

  • Strong analytical and technical skills. This should include use of modern technologies, methodologies, patterns and industry standards (Agile, Togaf, Zachman).

  • Technical leadership

  • Ability to explain complex business issues/outcomes to technology people and complex technology issues/outcomes to business people

  • Experience of software adoption which should include an understanding of the way corporate culture impacts software solutions

  • Software Architecture (must understand and contribute to all levels of design needed for the solution (business, data, application, technology))

Hands on experience developing enterprise solutions using Microsoft platforms, Web Services, designing and building frameworks, enterprise patterns, database design and development, Performance and load testing, development tools

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
