Position Description

The MPHD Women Infants and Children (WIC) office is seeking an Office Support Specialist 2 to perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties, with specific emphasis on Voter Registration and Vendor Management responsibilities. Nashville WIC participants receive vital child health and development education, breastfeeding support, and healthy food vouchers from our compassionate and culturally competent staff.

Typical Duties

  • Oversees and coordinates Voter Registration Policy and procedures according to Federal/State/Local regulations.

  • Collects and stores voter declinations according to clinic.

  • Receives completed voter applications and submits them to Election Commissions according to policy.

  • Trains clinic staff annually on Voter Registration Policy and procedures to ensure compliance of program.

  • Completes any required State/Local reporting and participates in supporting local and federal audits as necessary.

  • Assures compliance with Federal/State/Local WIC Regulations and Procedures

  • Assists Vendor Coordinator with WIC Vendor Management services including annual vendor training, monitoring visits, vendor application support, and fleet management.

  • Prepares for special projects and duties to provide education, assessment, engagement with other related initiatives.

  • Serves as a liaison between clinics, clients, vendors, and central office.

  • Serves as a preceptor for dietetic internship rotations.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma.

Five ( 5) years of increasingly responsible clerical/administrative experience.

Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Government’s employment-based immigration programs.

Valid driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law
