Job Summary and Qualifications

The TriStar Food & Nutrition Registered Dietitian 1, will be an experienced and competent dietetic professional with a Bachelor’s degree or higher who is responsible for the assessment, intervention implementation, and monitoring/evaluation of patients through the Nutrition Care Process. This role will provide excellent customer service to all patients and employees.

What You Will Do In This Role:

• You will perform specific competencies as outlined in the Competency Checklist.

• You will meet annual performance goals and objectives.

• You will uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and patient rights.

• You will support the facility’s mission and values.

• You will perform additional duties as assigned.

• You will use nutrition screening tools to identify patients at nutrition risk.

• You will apply the Nutrition Care Process for patient assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring.

• You will develop and implement nutrition care plans for complex medical conditions, including critical care and enteral/parenteral nutrition.

• You will provide nutrition counseling for both inpatients and outpatients.

• You will follow evidence-based guidelines and protocols in delivering nutrition care.

• You will participate in interdisciplinary team activities and medical rounds.

• You will engage in departmental committees, work groups, and performance improvement projects.

• You will complete competency assessments and self-evaluations to set professional goals.

• You will pursue continuous professional development and maintain high competency levels.

• You will ensure compliance with registration and licensure requirements.

• You will educate and train dietetic interns, diet technicians, healthcare students, residents, and allied health professionals.

• You will mentor dietetic professionals and enhance their critical thinking skills.

• You will focus on patient-centered care and enhancing patient/family experiences.

• You will use HCA hardware and software, including Meditech and Computrition Nutrition Care Management program.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Dietitian.

• Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing, with Registered Dietitian licensure within 6 months of hire.

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.

• Maintain CDR professional portfolio with at least 75 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every 5 years.
