Description:

Historically, the travel requirement for this position has ranged from 80-100%. KPMG is currently

seeking a Senior Associate to join our Advisory Services (https://advisory.kpmg.us/) practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently and collaboratively leads a workstream of up to 3 Associates in assessments & transformations of provider organization's revenue cycle management capabilities, including financial performance, billing & follow-up practices, and gaps in leading practice workflows related to financial clearance and cash collection functions, by way of site observations, stakeholder interviews, document review, data-driven insights / observations, and workflow mapping.

  • Leverages key digital capabilities to enable revenue cycle functions including Electronic health record platforms (EHR), Customer relationship management (CRM), payment management systems, process automation, and analytic tools

  • Works with clients to design / redesign business processes for optimized efficiency including the incorporation of tools and techniques such as RPA & Intelligent Automation while utilizing and adapting to KPMG methodologies and tools to typical and complex situations, circumstances, and new requirements

  • Conducts research for and performs data collection, analysis, synthesis, and narrative development to support project deliverables and presentation content for clients and KPMG project team both independently and collaboratively

  • Facilitates program and project management activities through workplans, preparation and review of high-quality engagement deliverables / work papers, detailed analytical conclusions, and status reports to present to healthcare clients

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of healthcare consulting experience focused on Patient Access, mid-revenue, and Patient Financial Services / Billing Office operations performance improvement, financial benefit review / quantification, target operating model review / strategy, third party systems integrations / data conversion & management, detailed healthcare analytics, revenue cycle management KPIs and benchmarks against leading practice or equivalent industry experience (Experience with Epic revenue cycle management products preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university (preferred concentrations include Health Care Administration, Business, Management Information Systems, Economics, Industrial Engineering, and Accounting)

  • Progressive experience implementing operational improvement plans across all phases of healthcare revenue cycle management including financial clearance, authorization / referral management, registration, billing, follow-up/collections, contract management, denials, underpayments, and vendor management

  • Experience with handling, analyzing, and evaluating large data sets with advanced analytics and visualization tools and working with project management teams, drafting status reports, tracing issues, monitoring resources, and workflow analysis/design

  • Solid understanding of additional revenue cycle functions such as patient scheduling, care delivery and care coordination, patient flow/throughput, charge capture, revenue integrity, clinical documentation, and clinical/operational analytics coupled with proficiency with advanced consulting skills such as analytical, written, and verbal communication; possess appropriate client presence, facilitation and presentation skills

  • Ability to travel 80% and Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
