Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Logistics Operations Planner like you to join our amazing Muscatine, IA Manufacturing plant.

The Bandag facility in Muscatine has been in operation for more than 50 years and is where the retread equipment is made that directly supports Bandag retread dealers. Bandag dealers use this equipment in their retread plants to create quality retread tires for fleet customers of all sizes.

As a Senior Logistics Operations Planner, you will be responsible for the efficient transportation and distribution of finished products to customers, retailers and to other facilities within the organization. This role will serve as the Transportation point of contact for day-to-day planning needs and requests for Bandag shipping and receiving facilities.

Responsibilities

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for transportation planning for assigned plants/locations/systems.

  • Outbound Logistics to our franchise Bandag dealers.

  • Inbound Logistics for raw material vendor shipments to Bandag production plants.

  • Interplant Logistics for shipments between Bandag shipping plants.

  • ETA Requests.

  • Spot Quote Requests.

  • C Logistics Request.

  • NA Transportation Requests.

  • Claims Submission and Resolution.

  • Point of contact for transportation/warehouse communication and interaction.

  • Point of contact for weather and other issues that will affect local transportation and deliveries.

  • Oversee return programs.

  • Leads and supports continuous improvement projects and processes.

  • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Communicates, as necessary, with management and with executive leadership.

  • Ensure timely response to key stakeholders throughout the operations team.

  • Continuous review of IMS Work Standards documents to ensure accuracy with current processes.

  • This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring teammates to work on-site three days per week.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
