The Senior Product Manager will contribute the mid and long-term strategy for the optimization of AZIM's execution automation. While responsible for systematic disruption management, rescheduling and ETA accuracy, this individual will work cross-functionally with stakeholders across Middle Mile Supply and Route Optimization to identify and remove manual dependencies and processes used today to execute AZIM shipments and delight customers.

This individual will manage execution optimization across 86 rail ramps operated by 4 unique railroads in NA. Each rail ramp has distinctive attributes including operating hours, load type processing restrictions, chassis ownership and management, as well as capacity limitations. The ability to utilize data to solve complex business use cases is a must.

The Sr. Product Manager will establish a realistic and actionable execution glidepath and guide cross-functional teams towards executing and supporting that vision. They are accountable for developing mechanisms to identify manual, operational work streams which need to be automated to create "hands-off of the wheel" execution. They are expected to spend the majority of their time building the automated approach to action and resolve execution defects which are both Amazon and non-Amazon controllable.

Key job responsibilities

AZIM is looking for a talented Senior Product Manager who will be responsible for managing the business side of AZIM product and partnering with PMs, PMTs, SDEs, DEs and Research Scientists. The candidate will do this through product development (preventative) and programmatic (reactive) application. This candidate will index high on customer obsession, hearing our customer pain points and working to implement changes that drive supply chain efficiencies and an improved shipper experience. We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to solve complex problems with cross-functional partners. The candidate will need to think big towards a long-term vision while delivering results incrementally and be comfortable analyzing data to develop business cases, prioritize features, and understand the impact of new launches.

A day in the life

• Manage the full lifecycle of complex cross-functional products and programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations

• Drive teams both inside and outside of your organization to deliver

• Set project and product objectives, analyze data, and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics

• Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects/products

• Solve ambiguous problems and drive effective solutions

• Partner with customers, internal and external teams, engineering teams, and leadership to entitle and prioritize projects/products

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of end to end product delivery experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with product cycles of 6+ months

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
