Robert Half Staff Accountant in Nashville, Tennessee

Description

We are looking to add a Staff Accountant to our client located in Nashville, Tennessee. The chosen individual will play a key role for the team by overseeing financial reporting, maintaining financial records, and ensuring the accuracy and timely processing of all financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and update job costs related to accounts payable and payroll

• Collaborate in the establishment and management of the annual budget

• Oversee the maintenance of vendor data and ensure accurate documentation

• Regularly process and review vendor invoices, ensuring they are accurately coded, approved, and paid on time

• Handle the weekly processing of employee timecards and administer payroll

• Reconcile all company bank accounts to ensure accurate financial records

• Accurately track and process client payments, ensuring all records are up-to-date

• Prepare and review bi-monthly financial statements and Work In Progress (WIP) reports

• Coordinate with external accountants for the filing of income and franchise tax reports

• Assist with the development of business and financial plans, providing data for business growth initiatives

Requirements • Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.

• Knowledge and practical application of General Ledger processes.

• Ability to prepare and process Journal Entries accurately.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software.

• Understanding of Job Cost procedures and its relevance in accounting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
