Vanderbilt University Study Clinician - Term in Nashville, Tennessee

This study clinician position is part of the Mood, Emotion, and Development Lab housed in the Department of Psychology and Human Development at Peabody College at Vanderbilt University and is responsible for overseeing clinical assessments for grant-funded clinical research studies. Responsibilities will include administering diagnostic, stress, and suicidality interviews; training and supervising graduate students administering assessments; implementing safety protocols when suicidal thoughts and behaviors are endorsed by participants; overseeing mandated reporting requirements; and being on call to respond to safety alerts as needed. The clinical interviewer regularly reports progress to the lab director and lab manager and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, including psychologists, psychiatrists, graduate students, and research staff.

Duties and Responsibilities
Administer diagnostic, stress, and suicidality interviews to child, adolescent, and adult research participants (availability evening and weekends is required)
Train and supervise graduate students on clinical assessments
Implement safety protocols including collaborating with treatment teams and clinical providers when suicidal thoughts and behaviors are endorsed by participants
Respond to safety issues as needed during evenings and weekends
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including psychologists, psychiatrists, graduate students, and research staff
Supervisory Relationships
This position has supervisory responsibility over graduate student clinicians.
Qualifications
A master’s degree in a clinically oriented mental health discipline (e.g., social work, professional counseling, marriage and family counseling) is required.
Clinical experience with children and adolescents is required.
Research experience is preferred.
Experience with semi-structured interviews (e.g., SCID, KSADS, SITBI) is preferred.
Experience implementing safety protocols to respond to suicidal thoughts and behaviors is preferred.
Experience training and supervising others is preferred.
