Job Summary and Qualifications

The Vice President of Leadership and Organizational Development provides strategic consultation for the leadership development learning agenda. This position oversees all L&OD Program Development, Consulting and Delivery. This role is responsible for the development, launch, delivery and evaluation of programs, tools, and processes to build and sustain organizational and leadership capability. The role leads the overall HCA Healthcare Leadership Institute and leads a team of seasoned leadership and organizational development leaders, consultants and learning specialists.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and deployment of initiatives to develop high potential talent and enhance the overall effectiveness of present and future leaders, aligning development offerings with organizational objectives and employees’ personal goals and growth.

  • Sponsor the deployment of programs, tools and processes to support talent assessment, performance management and succession management, working collaboratively across the Engagement and Development COE and stakeholder groups.

  • Lead the analysis and development of new leadership programs for HCA.

  • Provide strategic thought leadership and consultation in the creation of leadership development programs to support the organization and drive long-term sustainable growth.

  • Deliver expertise in job design and organizational structure to meet the needs of existing and changing business models. Work with business operations to define and design new organizations.

  • Work directly with key stakeholders to ensure effective transitions and to build change management knowledge and capabilities across the company.

  • Deliver organizational consulting and expertise in the areas of employee engagement, retention, and service excellence. Oversee deployment of employee engagement and retention strategies, programs, tools and processes.

  • Measure program effectiveness by analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and comparing results against expected performance objectives and scorecards.

  • Design and develop communications in support of L&OD program and policy updates or changes.

Qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Master's degree preferred

  • 15+ years of experience in relevant work required

  • Strong knowledge and experience in learning strategies and practices, leadership development, curriculum design, coaching methods and approaches.

  • Proven expertise and experience in change management, employee engagement and retention, and related organizational effectiveness strategy development.

  • Ability to effectively coach, develop and lead others.
