LSMSA is a selective admission, public residential high school located in Natchitoches, LA, that has a 40-year legacy of a preeminent college-level living/learning experience for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related discipline.

  • Minimum three years’ experience with database systems or data analytics.

  • A higher degree may substitute for the required experience at the discretion of LSMSA.

  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and high accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, Visual Studio, and Notepad ++ applications.

  • Valid Louisiana driver’s license to facilitate participation in state-wide meetings and conferences.

  • High level of discretion with sensitive information.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with data hygiene and preparation of workflows for gathering and validating data used in reporting or systems integration.

  • Ability to work flexible hours as necessary, including evenings and weekends.

  • Must pass a drug screening and a criminal background check. Person may be employed pending the results of these screenings.

Preferred Qualification:

  • A master’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related discipline

  • Five or more years’ experience with Student Information Systems at the K-12 or higher education level

  • Experience with systems used by LDOE, such as LEADS, EdLink360, and eScholar.

  • Experience with systems used by LSMSA – Blackbaud Education, REACH, Snap Healthcare, Naviance, and Microsoft data-related services.

Job Concepts

The Coordinator of Data Compliance and Accountability performs various technical, administrative, and support tasks for LSMSA. Responsibilities include utilizing specialized tools to prepare data for reporting and analysis purposes, evaluating workflows and efficiencies, monitoring and implementing best practices for data security and integrity, and providing data use standards. A vital component of the position involves supporting the integration of data-driven decision-making, preparing, presenting, and maintaining various reports and datasets. This includes mandated data submissions supplied to the Louisiana Department of Education over the academic year.

This is a full-time position that may allow for a hybrid work schedule. It offers all the benefits afforded to Louisiana state employees, including health and retirement.

Examples of Work

Essential Functions:

Data Compliance and Management (75%):

  • Serve as the data manager for LSMSA, as outlined by LDOE.

  • Assist with ensuring the school’s program is consistent with state-mandated criteria.

  • Maintain considerable knowledge of LDOE standards and systems.

  • Maintain accounting procedures and regulations that satisfy local, state, and federal requirements regarding student information.

  • Maintain knowledge of student information software packages used by the school.

  • Utilize specialized reporting software to produce district-level reports to the LDOE. • Serve as the point of contact for Student Privacy Compliance

  • Provide recommendations and guidance in implementing policy and workflow changes to accommodate newly enacted mandates by oversight agencies or legislative acts. • Serve as the accountability contact to complete necessary data verifications and audits.

  • Aid in creating data analytics to report trends in enrollment management, academic support services, and retention-related activities.

  • Use data analysis to help create plans that support the Mission and Vision of LSMSA.

  • Provide the administration with data reports to be published in the annual “Pitch Book” and the “College Profile.”

  • Responsible for creating and submitting mandated data files for school accountability to LDOE.

  • Provide and coordinate data feeds from the canonical source databases to integrated systems and services.

Additional Duties as Instructed (25%):

  • Assist the CIO in technology service planning.

  • Assist in reviewing and implementing new services, applications, and workflows.

  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation on all workflows and procedures.

  • Share responsibility in supporting various services provided by LSMSA Information Technology.
