Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)

  • Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)

  • Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)

  • Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school OR six months to one year related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.

  • Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or TPP

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the TPP.

  • CPR – American Heart Association.

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred

  • Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT, or Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT).

  • 1 year experience in a hospital setting.
