Naval Facilities Engineering Command SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in Naval Base, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the PLANNING, DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION DIRECTORATE, DESIGN DIVISION, PROJECT PLANNING BRANCH of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. You will serve as a Project Planning Branch Manager. This is an interdisciplinary position which may be filled by any of the following series: General Engineer (0801), Architect (0808). Responsibilities You will apply expertise in engineering or architectural theories, concepts, principles, standards, methods and practices in project planning, engineering and design. You will abstract planning concepts and the ability to manipulate the concepts in circumstances where a high degree of uncertainty exists. You will utilize standards, codes and practices of project planning, engineering or architecture governing the identification, execution and delivery of technical products and services. You will utilize the organization, budgeting, planning, and project management techniques to review, assess, and resolve project planning issues. You will explain, explore, justify decisions, resolve controversies and/or conflicting project development issues resulting from planning/design criteria, engineering studies and design standards. You will be recognized as a SME, consultant, coordinator, and technical specialist in project planning, especially in DD1391 package development, ADA Work Classification, Safety Siting, and parametric cost estimation and economic analyses. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect (RA) in any state, District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your current license or registration with your application package. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
