Office of Naval Research SECURITY ASSISTANT in Naval Research Laboratory, District Of Columbia

Summary You will serve as a Security Assistant in the Mission Support Division, code 124300 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY. Responsibilities You will secure principles in the accomplishment of tasks as they relate to Anti-terrorism, Physical Security and Operations Security (OPSEC) You will be reviewing pertinent DOD and Naval directives to ensure program compliancy, and / or identify program deficiencies. You will conduct required Physical Security survey and assessments. You will monitor and update mandatory AT/FP training guidance. You will be writing, reviewing and updates of security instructions, standard operating procedure, preparing correspondence, processing branch mail, maintaining files and records, scheduling appointments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-01/04 grade level or pay band (NC-01) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: (1) Assisting and directing visitors; (2) Determining purpose of visit and assuring positive ID before allowing visitors entry; (3) Processing classified/unclassified meetings, temporary ID badge/VIP requests, and unclassified visits by foreign nationals; (4) Filing and updating databases and checking status of Personnel Security and Investigation actions; and (5) Reviewing and determining type of security investigation required Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
