Position Summary/Description:

The UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gynecologic Oncologist and Clinician Scientist interested in a career in academic medicine. This is a full-time, tenure track or variable track faculty position. The appointment rank and track will be commensurate with the chosen candidate’s experience and qualifications. Responsibilities for this position include comprehensive care of patients (outpatient, inpatient and surgery), education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participation in the division’s research mission. Patients include women with gynecologic cancers, cervical and vulvar dysplasia, and those with increased risk of developing gynecologic malignancies and benign complex gynecologic pathologies. The UNC Division of Gynecologic Oncology currently consists of 9 physicians, 3 advanced practice providers, 1 nurse clinician, 6 nurse navigators, and 6 fellows in training. Our Division members provide patient care at Rex Hospital (Raleigh, NC), Cone Hospital (Greensboro, NC), and UNC Hospitals (Chapel Hill, NC). The clinical assignment of this faculty will be at UNC Hospital with a second assignment at either REX Hospital or Cone Health Hospital, but not all three. This position will share night and weekend call with other providers.

We are seeking a faculty member with a record of excellence as a clinician as well as a clinician scientist. The candidate should ideally have a strong background and interest in basic science, clinical and/or translational research. Evidence of independent funding or a research program with the promise of funding is preferred. The ideal candidate displays interest and aptitude for team-based science, with excellent communication and writing skills. This faculty recruit would be joining our Division of Research with members active in translational research, epidemiology and clinical trial development and management. In addition, they would be supported by the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Gillings School of Global Public Health.
