Riverside Community Care Life Skills Internship - Flexible Start Date - Summer 2024 in Needham, Massachusetts

Seeking Bachelor and Master level interns to join the Life Skills team as a clinical intern currently pursuing their degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred!

Life Skills Center in Needham, MA is a DMH-funded day treatment program for adolescents between the ages of 12-18 with a range of mental health diagnoses that hinder their functioning in school and their community. Life Skills takes pride in providing individualized treatment with an enrollment of 8 youth maximum.

This program runs year-round, Monday-Friday from 9-3 and provides 3 therapeutic groups a day as well as seasonal field trips and community outings.

Schedule:

  • Flexible Mon-Fri (16-24 hours per week)

    Please note that this internship is unpaid.

    As a clinical intern you will:

  • Plan and co-facilitate 2-3 therapeutic groups a day that touch base on various interventions (i.e., CBT/DBT, Expressive Art, Movement, Psychoeducation, Social-skill building)

  • Attend weekly staff meetings to discuss program updates

  • Attend weekly clinical rounds to discuss youth updates and referrals

  • Managing paperwork and completing daily progress notes

  • Receive weekly 1:1 supervision

Required SkillsRequired Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program

  • Prior experience working with children, adolescents, and/or young adults

  • Prior experience or knowledge of therapeutic group work
