Job Title: Administrative Assistant - Environmental Health

Location: Negaunee, MI

Pay: $15.45 per Hour

What’s the Job?

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to an Environmental Health Division including correspondence, reports, receipting and accounting, scheduling of professional staff, and scheduling of department vehicle use and maintenance scheduling.

  • Perform administrative functions related to food safety, campgrounds, public swimming pools, group homes, water and wastewater, building codes, and other environmental needs of the organization.

  • Maintain data on associated department database systems.

  • Maintain supply inventory, orders as needed for department.

  • Provides clerical related coverage and support to other clerical positions within the organization as needed to maintain interface with customers.

What’s Needed?

  • Temp to perm position, full time M-F 8am-5pm with 1 hour lunch.

  • High school graduation or equivalent and some advanced coursework related to data processing and accounting.

  • Two years of experience involving accounting, word processing, and spreadsheet programs.

  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, and adaptability to multiple specialized database and software systems.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, access departmental files, enter and retrieve data from a computer and web based systems, lift and carry files, display boards, and informational materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
