Pacific Seafood Fish Culturist in Nespelem, Washington

Summary: 

To become knowledgeable, and proficient with all fish husbandry applications, including feed management, feeding principles and fish health and welfare as it pertains to farm raised trout.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the physiological requirements of the fish as it relates to the environment, cultural conditions and feeding practices.

  • Monitor feeding, environmental conditions, and fish behavior.

  • Learn and utilize computerized feeding systems and be able to troubleshoot when necessary.

  • Utilize skills and attention to detail to become highly efficient in fish husbandry techniques, not limited to feeding, which include early rearing, fin clipping, and vaccinating.

  • Participate in facility operations: maintaining proper densities; predicting growth rates; and ensuring sites are functioning at capacity.

  • Maintain accurate records.

  • Maintain company assets in good operational condition.

  • Apply effective aquaculture techniques while working to continuously improve operations with respect to productivity, quality, safety, inventory levels and operating expense.

  • Directly supervise team members in the aquaculture department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

    What You Bring to Pacific Seafood: 

    Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university, OR Associate’s degree (AA) and two years related experience, OR four years related experience in aquaculture.

  • Valid Driver’s license

    Preferred:

  • Experience with trout and/or net pen farming. 

    Salary Range:  $19.65 to $24.76/hr
