Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located within the Traffic Operations Division, as part of the Signs, Striping, and Traffic Control (SSTC) team. This position is an Underfill for a Staff II, A.E. This position is responsible for developing signing plans, signing summaries, signing estimates, and special provisions. This position is also responsible for providing support, guidance, and reviews of striping and traffic control plans. This position will support the division's efforts with the Transportation System Management & Operations (TSMO) program and initiatives. NOTE: THIS RECRUITMENT MAY BE USED TO UNDERFILL A STAFF 2, ASSOCIATE ENGINEER. INCUMBENT MAY PROGRESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL AFTER MEETING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE, AND WITH APPROVAL OF THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field; OR two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Special Notes
Employees in this class who are not registered professional engineers may not represent themselves as such to other persons or entities.Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.The Examination
