The Position
Employee Development Managers and Training Officers analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, manage and coordinate training and development for a department, division or a geographic region of a department's statewide training function and supervise and/or conduct sessions for vocation and/or skills training in specific occupational areas and general management development.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is hiring a Training Officer 2, underfilling a Employee Development Manager. This position plans, organizes, directs, and controls the operations of the Learning and Development team within the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing creation of all video training modules; updating and maintaining the Learning Management System; cooperative training projects with Deloitte, Eligibility & Payments, and the DWSS Project Management Office; and curriculum development and delivery of the Administrative Assistants Academies, Hospital Presumptive Eligibility Certification Courses, Supervisor Academies, and other agency training events. The Employee Development Manager is additionally responsible for identifying training needs, curriculum development for field training unit staff, and training offered to outside entities. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in organizational behavior, education, communications, business or public administration or a related field and three years of professional experience in the adult and/or employee training and development process including conducting training needs assessments; planning and developing curriculum; and coordinating and conducting formal training; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year experience as a Training Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.Additional Position Criteria
This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.The Examination
