Ahead LLC Graphic Color Selector in New Bedford, Massachusetts

JOB SUMMARY:

The Graphic Color Selector also refer as the "Color Picker" is responsible for accurately choosing the correct thread colors to use on embroidered orders by following company standards, account history, and color matching.  The Graphic Color Selector should have a good eye for color and an understanding of color theory. Accurate, timely completion of the duties of the Color Picker is an essential component in ensuring that company wide goals of quality and on-time delivery are attained.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Choose thread colors based on color standards and account history while taking into account visual appeal based on our customer’s needs.

  • Focus on reaching daily production goals by completing at least 3-4 jobs per hour.

  • Work on orders in a timely manner to ensure they are going into production before the BSS date on the order.

  • Ensure all order notes and details are followed to prevent returned products.

  • Ensure account information, quantities, and product information follow the order sheet and that the correct file is used so that the production floor has all of the correct information to produce the order.

  • Participate in cross-training within the team to maximize production and quality goals.

  • Use color-picking software to identify threads used, order info, and correct digital files for the production department.

  • Match the color of PMS, digital, or printed art to the Madeira thread.

  • Provide feedback to management.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

    MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Run samples for approvals.

  • Do onscreen approvals with color-picking software.

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is a plus but not required.

  • Knowledge of other relevant computer software and systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent electronic communication and functional ability.

  • Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Must possess initiative, energy, and drive.

  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers and management.

  • Excellent organizational skills

     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Vocational School for graphic arts preferred

  • Associate’s Degree in the Arts preferred, but not required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Use hands and fingers to handle, touch, and type. 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

  • Regularly required to stand and walk.

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.

    VISION REQUIREMENT:

  • Close vision.

  • Color vision.

  • Ability to adjust focus.

    TRAVEL

  • Possibility of travel; anticipated once per year. Travel can include a trade show including set up and working the event

    SCHEDULE:

  • 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday with Overtime (Saturday 7 am-noon) as require d.
