Overview
The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Emergency Medical Technician (Temporary) for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations - Emergency Services.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Answers all calls for Emergency Medical Treatment in accordance with departmental standards and NJ Department of Health regulations.
  • Determines the nature and extent of the injury or medical condition.
  • Establishes priorities and renders emergency care.
  • Prepares detailed reports of all incidents.
  • Provides instructional courses as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school/vocational school education or equivalent.
Certifications/Licenses
  • NJ Emergency Medical Technician (or NJ DOH approved equivalent).
  • American Heart Association CPR BLS-Health Care Provider (or DOH equivalent).
  • NIMS Awareness, ICS -100, ICS-200.
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
