Overview
The Institute for Families (IFF) at the Rutgers School of Social Work exists to advance the professional practice and knowledge base of individuals and organizations improving the lives of children and families. The Institute delivers services through a portfolio of over $25M in awards that increase the capacity of child welfare and human service systems, largely through training, technical assistance, and applied research and evaluation services which are delivered through Institute sites throughout the state and a host of community-based locations.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Facilities and Event Coordinator for the Institute for Families (IFF). This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Finance and Operations.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Coordinates operations at IFF offices and its leasing agreements, including assignment of space, branding, scheduling, maintenance, and access by occupants and stakeholders.
  • Recommends and communicates procedures for utilization and security of IFF's sites and occupants.
  • Serves as a safety awareness liaison to University, building and community stakeholders as a means to maintain security while keeping all occupants and stakeholders up to date on changes to status.
  • Ensures that sites are welcoming and portray the Institute, School and University brand.
  • Maintains an inventory of and supports access to community-based locations where IFF's programming may be delivered.
  • Provides excellent customer service while maintaining the integrity of the policies and procedures of the University, School, and Institute, while upholding the values of IFF's mission and credo.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience in facility or events management.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Commitment to responsive and solution-oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate with experience in word processing.
  • Must be able to recognize and evaluate maintenance problems, security issues, and operate audio/visual equipment.

  • Works on-site a minimum of four days each week.
