Job Title: Packaging Development Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Development Engineer to modify packaging for existing and new products and execute projects for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging development. The role involves managing project timelines, finding solutions to problems, and meeting expectations while ensuring quality and consumer satisfaction are not compromised.

Responsibilities

  • Modify packaging for existing and new products.

  • Execute projects for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging development.

  • Provide input for project timelines and ensure timelines are met.

  • Find solutions to problems and manage expectations.

  • Evaluate new packaging processes or materials to increase productivity and/or reduce costs while maintaining quality.

  • Utilize various packaging materials (e.g., fiberboard, corrugated, plastics, folding cartons, plastic and glass bottles, flexible packaging, thermoformed packaging, films, foils) to develop cost-effective, consumer-acceptable packages.

  • Interact directly with primary and secondary packaging component suppliers on design changes, specifications, and managing tooling build projects.

  • Execute engineering studies and component verification tests to verify changes or modifications to packaging components.

  • Coordinate and execute plant line trials, including the generation of test plans and reports.

  • Develop and execute qualification programs for new package designs and materials.

Essential Skills

  • BA degree in Engineering.

  • 3+ years of packaging development experience with primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging.

  • Pharmaceutical

  • Experience with process improvement equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • LEAN manufacturing

  • Six Sigma certification.

Work Environment

This is a dynamic and busy environment focused on packaging development for new and existing products. The role involves buying new equipment and developing new processes for a new site. The company has experienced extensive growth recently and is focused on international business, contributing to this growth

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00
