Job Overview:

Engages in quality monitoring, performance improvement, and project management to support clinical staff to achieve all aspects of CSH's mission but especially as relates to patient safety and quality goals.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree

  • NJ RN license

  • AHA BLS Provider certification

  • Achieve Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) within 2 years of hire

  • Minimum 3 years nursing experience

  • Knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of nursing quality indicators

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills

  • Evidence of interpersonal skill and ability to collaborate with others

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Ability to manage several projects and processes simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • Physical stamina and ability to safely lift and move objects and people

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • NJ RN license

  • AHA BLS Provider certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full Time

  • 40 hours/week

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in patient safety activities across the organization, including but not limited to, quality and performance audits, surveillance activities, prospective risk analyses, and intensive analyses

  • Participates in conducting gap analyses, and analyzing reports, Ex, Press Ganey, Joint Commission surveys, etc.

  • Serves as a resource for clinical disciplines related to National Patient Safety Goals, Provision of Care, and other accrediting and regulatory standards

  • Assists in development of policies and procedures related to patient safety and clinical quality

  • Assists in development of standards and metrics for monitoring patient safety and quality at the point of care

  • Manages the quality report card data input

  • Provides analysis of data related to quality and safety

  • Oversees POCT for inpatients and primary care medical practices
