Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, implements multiple research studies relating to the mental health and substance use of New Jersey residents. These studies primarily focus on the treatment needs of individuals with substance use disorders and are conducted in substance abuse treatment settings. The position involves assisting study coordinators, implementing study protocols, recruiting and interviewing study participants, assisting temporary PT research assistants, analyzing study data, and preparing reports.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Under direction of the Principal Investigator, the RTS IV will assist with the management of research projects including, but not limited to, research on people with opioid use disorders and opioid use disorder treatment.
  • Performs various research procedures relative to the ongoing research protocols.
  • Recruits and enrolls participants in research studies, which will involve multiple substance use treatment programs throughout the state of NJ. Maintains confidential research records and ensures that records are always secured.
  • Accurately and comprehensively documents all contact with participants.
  • Tracks and schedules research participant appointments.
  • Conducts participant interviews and other data collection.
  • Assists with database management; literature searches; communication with the IRB office.
  • Attends project-specific training and research project meetings. Provide on-site office coverage as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master's Degree in a relevant science, or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience. Relevant preferred fields include, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work Counseling, or Health Sciences degree.
