Actalent Quality Control Technician in New City, New York

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description

The Quality Technician verifies the acceptability of our vendors' components at incoming inspection, our own products during in-process and final inspection, and our quality system through evaluation of process and procedure. Testing of parts and components as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Audit manufacturing processes and test finished devices (pre and post-sterile products).

  • Review all product-related documentation: device history records, defect records, process sheets, drawings, route sheets, etc.

  • Calibrate gages and other miscellaneous equipment.

  • Identify, document, and control nonconforming/deficient goods through use of the NCR or CAPA processes.

  • Assist engineering (QA, R&D, manufacturing) with the performance of First Article Inspections.

  • Provide consultation to operators, engineers, and other staff as a Subject Matter Expert on inspection processes and techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 years' experience in Quality Control with at least 1 year in a medical device manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read drawings and use microscope for inspection purposes, including using close vision.

  • Ability to read standard inspecting gaging required (digital calipers, scales, pin gages).

  • Experience with Quality System Regulations and ISO requirements.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Work Environment

The position is based in Rockland County, NY, with a team of 23 members. The working hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This is a full-time role with a medical device manufacturer, initially offered as a 6-month contract position, which could be extended. The role includes 1 week of vacation time, accrued sick time, and 6 paid holidays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00
