POSITION: Registered Dietitian

SALARY: $60K-$70K DOE, $5,000 SIGN ON BONUS

HOURS: Full-Time, Regular Hours

Responsible for nutritional care of all tube fed residents including quarterly assessment and documentation of same.

Responsible for review and/or intervention of all significant changes as indicated via the interdisciplinary notification papers sent by nursing or change in medical condition identified by MDS Coordinator.

Responsible for planning, review and/or revision of cyclical menus and modified diet extensions, and nutritional adequacy of same.

Responsible for nutritional care needs of all residents deemed to be at high risk nutritionally at admission or re-admission including initial assessment and follow up.

Responsible for documenting on the skin assessment sheets weekly as identified by the target books on each unit.

Responsible for all annual assessments with RAPS and MDS and care plan.

Responsible for assessment and documentation of all decubitis patients as identified by the physician assistant's weekly list.

Participates with dining room meal observation and supervision including checking of the diet technician's supervision of the meal.

Responsible for nutritional care plan and attending interdisciplinary care plan meeting for current caseload.

Responsible for one day general orientation for all new employees concerning nutritional care of residents.

Responsible for overall supervision of Diet Technician's clinical workload. To include review and co-sign Registered Dietician assessment where needed.

Consult with medical and nursing staff regarding dietetics.

Responsible for providing nutritional coverage in the absence of the CDN or Diet Technician as necessary.

Writes monthly report of work done, including recommendations for change and improvement and submit to the Director of Dining Services.

Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility's corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws. Adheres to the facility's confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees, as necessary to perform job duties.

Performs any other duties assigned.

Job Requirements:

This position is open to a Registered Dietitian or Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist qualified by the State of New York.
