Accounts Payable Specialist

Robert Half has once again partnered with a valued client who is in the wholesale distribution industry. Our client has been in business for over 100 years and offer some of the best products around! Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist will manage all day-to-day aspects of AP for the company, as well as assist with other general office functions for a small-office environment. You will have the capability to enhance procedures and make an impact within the Finance Department.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing all aspects of accounts payable including vendor relationships and timely invoice payments

• Implementing and enforcing accounts payable policies and procedures

• Posting invoices in the appropriate accounts

• Identifying and resolving discrepancies in 3-way matching

• Negotiating and setting up vendors as required

• Managing staff expense reports and credit card spending

• Utilizing skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Check Runs, Coding Invoices, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, NetSuite, and Expense Reports

• Ensuring accurate and efficient process of customer credit applications

• Maintaining precise customer credit records

• Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions.

Ideal experience:

• 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Experience with an ERP or Accounting software (Oracle and NetSuite are preferred)

• Ability to work in a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
