U.S. Courts Financial Procurement Technician in New Orleans, Louisiana

Summary The Financial Procurement Technician performs as a contracting officer procuring goods and miscellaneous services. Also reviews and processes travel vouchers and aids with financial collections. Responsibilities The Financial Procurement Technician will work within the Administrative Services team and be responsible for procuring equipment, supplies, and miscellaneous services, ensuring procurement practices comply with established policies. The incumbent will review and process travel vouchers and advances, provide training, support, and guidance to Clerk's Office staff, judges, and chambers staff on all official government travel in compliance with national and court policies. The incumbent will also aid in the safekeeping, depositing, accounting, and reporting of monies received. The Financial Procurement Technician reports to the Administrative Services Supervisor and may be permitted opportunities to telework upon completion of training and in accordance with the office's telework policy. Requirements Conditions of Employment Applicants must be United States citizens or lawful permanent residents seeking United States citizenship. The successful candidate will be offered employment based on a satisfactory background check and investigation. Employees serve under "Excepted Appointments" and are considered "At-Will" employees. Qualifications Two-years general clerical experience and one-year progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience that provided knowledge of the rules, regulations, practices, and principles of financial administration and/or accounting; and involved the routine use of automated financial systems or other computer-based systems and applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, or database applications. Fast and accurate data entry skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and working in a Windows environment. Ability to process a large quantity of work quickly and efficiently with meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve a common goal. Proven automation and technology proficiency with a working knowledge of database applications, as well as financial and accounting systems. Education High school diploma or equivalent.
