FactSet Software Engineer - Hybrid NYC (Java, APIs, XML, J2EE, JMS) (R26390) in New York City, Connecticut

Portware's flagship product, Portware Enterprise, is a fully customizable trade management and execution system for single stock, portfolio, basket, automated and algorithmic trading. Our product supports clients on both the buy-side and sell-side along within Equity, FX, Futures, Options and Fixed Income asset classes.Responsibilities:Deliver high quality, re-usable and maintainable code, perform Unit / Integration Testing of assigned tasks within the agreed timelines.Develop and enhance core and client systems functionality, including algorithms, plug-in modules, API and GUI.Basic Troubleshooting and debugging of production issues.Work in an agile team environment and collaborate with internal teams (e.g: Product, Quality Assurance) to ensure smooth product delivery.Minimum Requirements:3 to 5 years of programming experience with core java (preferably in the finance or electronic trading space)Critical Skills:Firm understanding of Java 8 core APIs (Java 11 a plus), including collections, multi-threading, XML, SWING(optional) and middleware technologies.Hands-on design and implementation experience in high-volume, high-performance real-time trading systems.Has repeatedly developed, tested and deployed high quality, stable changes with success and in a timely mannerProven ability to adapt to changes in requirements and learn new tools and practices where neededAdditional Skill/Desired Skills:Knowledge of financial equity or derivatives products, market data feeds, trade lifecycle and FIX.Knowledge of Swing, JMS, J2EE.Ability to communicate effectively with peers within the organizationEducation:Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer ScienceThe budgeted salary range for this position in the states of California, Connecticut and New York is $130,000.00 - $145,000.00At FactSet, we celebrate diversity of thought, experience, and perspective.
