The Work:
Lead and manage the transformation of trading operations in the Power Commodities, Natural Gas, and Renewable Energy sectors, driving strategic process redesigns and organizational improvements.
Work closely with senior client stakeholders, including executives, to understand their business challenges and deliver high-impact, actionable solutions that align with their long-term objectives.
Guide the gathering and analysis of functional requirements to craft comprehensive trading and risk management solution designs that meet complex business needs.
Oversee the configuration, system testing, and end-to-end validation of trading solutions, ensuring seamless implementation and optimization for the client.
Take ownership of the design and execution of Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM/ETRM) solutions, encompassing transaction capture, risk management, logistics, accounting, and regulatory compliance.
Provide strategic leadership in navigating market dynamics within power trading, natural gas, and renewable energy, offering clients cutting-edge insights and solutions to stay ahead of industry trends.
Drive the execution of digital transformation initiatives, leveraging advanced technologies to optimize trading operations and improve market performance.
Take a lead role in business development, cultivating strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to proposal efforts.
Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional growth within the practice.
Travel to client locations as needed to ensure successful delivery and to further strengthen client partnerships
What You Need:
At least 8 years of experience in Power Commodities, Natural Gas, or Renewable Energy trading markets, with a proven track record of leadership in client-facing projects.
Deep expertise and in-depth knowledge of U.S. wholesale power RTOs (CAISO, NYISO, PJM, MISO, SPP, etc.), and experience with Day-Ahead/Real-Time markets, LMP Pricing, Capacity markets, and ISO Settlements.
Strong understanding of trading operations, including scheduling, nominations, and settlement processes across power and natural gas markets.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, with advanced education (e.g., MBA) preferred.
Expertise in Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM/ETRM) systems, such as OpenLink Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, or similar platforms.
Proven leadership in collaborating with clients to define, design, and implement trading solutions that meet business objectives and optimize operational efficiency.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with significant experience working with senior executives and leading teams to drive strategic outcomes.
At least 5 years of relevant Consultant or Consulting equivalent experience.
Ability to travel up to 50% to client locations, maintaining strong, trusted relationships and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
Bonus Points if You Have:
Hands-on experience in implementing and optimizing digital solutions to streamline and enhance trading operations, leveraging advanced technologies like AI, machine learning, or blockchain.
Knowledge and experience with renewable energy trading processes, such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), and carbon markets, with a strong focus on sustainability.
Deep understanding of trends in energy transition and market shifts, particularly in decarbonization, renewable integration, and grid modernization.
Advanced certifications or education, such as an MBA, CFA, or relevant industry certifications (e.g., Energy Risk Professional).
A passion for sustainability, with a track record of thought leadership in energy transition initiatives and the future of power markets.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York or Washington as set forth below.
