Summary

Responsible for external statutory financial reporting and analysis for eight insurance companies and maintaining compliance with internal and external controls.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements for eight insurance companies

Calculate and post statutory journal entries and reconcile account balances

Reconcile GAAP to STAT differences

Assist in the preparation of statutory taxes

Develop and maintain proficiency with WINGS statutory reporting system and SUN general ledger system

Development of reports from data warehouse to analyze statutory data and prepare required pages within annual statements

Assist with providing support to external auditors for annual audited financial statements

Research statutory accounting practices and procedures as may be required

Maintain financial controls and procedures in accordance with department procedures, best practices and internal audit requirements

Complete and file required state information by published due dates
