Position Overview:
As part of the talented team, this position works closely with EHS Manager and employees at all levels in support of the facilities Environmental and Health & Safety Systems. This position is responsible for coordinating critical EHS functions.

Ensure plant safety by providing a safe environment for employees and actively supporting the departmental audit program Brunswick Safety Management System (SMS) procedures
Promote a proactive EH&S System
Requires the application of expertise in professional area(s) to achieve results
Strong influencing skills in support of environmental and safety improvements
Conducts inspections and audits; investigates incidents and injures and drives accountability to resolve issues
Assist in Worker’s Compensation claims in coordination with Human Resources and EHS Manager
Ensure implementation of corrective actions, EH&S policies, and BMPs
Conducts EH&S training for facility personnel and new employees
Oversee environmental monitoring activities, and generate regulatory reports
Prepares and maintains various EH&S documentation reporting deadlines, prepares communications with governmental agencies.
Monitors federal, state and municipal regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
Review Incident reports and provide information that will aid in reducing accidents and improving safety
Communicate all relevant EH&S information to company and facility management, as well as all facility employees.
Serve as backup to EHS Manager
Review and process department-related invoices
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
Two year degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management or equivalent experience preferred
Certified, or able to be certified in CPR and first aid.
Leadership training preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated record of strong leadership; willingness to challenge status quo
Minimum of one year of EH&S exp. in an industrial/manufacturing environment
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, State and local regulations
Familiarity with CERCLA, EPCRA, and NPDES
Must have strong communication skills; ability to work in a team environment
Strong math and writing skills.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and rapidly changing priorities
Strong analytical aptitude is required to gather and summarize data for reports,
Personal computer and software experience.
Superior interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
Works in a manufacturing and office environment, some tasks are outdoors
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb and bend
Exposed to dust, odors, fumes and moderate noise.
