Job Title: Junior Revenue Accountant

Department: Finance

Reports to: Director, Revenue Management

Location: Hybrid-Flexed

Hourly range: $28.57 to $37.36*

*New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.

Position Overview:

The Revenue Accountant will join the Finance Department to ensure that all gifts and other revenue streams are processed accurately and efficiently. The Revenue Accountant will work under the direction of the Director of Revenue Management. The ideal candidate will have experience in a nonprofit development space.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pull gift transaction data from various platforms and prepares for daily input and reconciliation within Sage Intacct

  • Preparation and dissemination of daily receipt report to Finance and Development team members

  • Work collaboratively with the Development team to reconcile donor database gifts anticipated against funds received

  • Maintains accurate and appropriate chart of accounts as it relates to contribution revenue including creation and usage of specific appeal codes

  • Research and reporting

  • Assistance in setting up and maintaining online donation portals with accurate organization information

  • Complete timely follow-up as needed to resolve discrepancies

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in non-profit or government sector

  • Knowledgeable of reporting needs for both accounting/finance and development teams

  • Must have the ability to exercise judgment and discretion in working with sensitive and often highly confidential information

Technical/Software skills:

  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with Sage Intacct a plus

  • Experience with donor database management a plus

  • Ability to work well within a team environment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail

  • Problem solving skills and a can-do approach to work

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Communicate effectively to Finance department leadership as well as across departments

Physical Requirements:

  • Will frequently communicate over video calls with internal and external stakeholders to provide status updates and potential roadblocks

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 50% of the time while reviewing data on a screen
