Robert Half Accountant - Entry Level in New York, New York

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Entry Level Accountant based in New York, New York. This role is ideal for individuals interested in the accounting sector, specifically in managing payables/receivables, journal entries, reconciliations, and processing payments/deposits. As an Accountant, you will be working closely with the team and assisting with various projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the management of payables and receivables to maintain accurate financial records

• Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy

• Process payments and deposits efficiently to ensure smooth financial operations

• Collaborate with the team and support ad-hoc projects to meet organizational goals

• Utilize accounting software systems like Blackbaud and Dynamics NAV for efficient work processing

• Use Microsoft Excel and Google Docs for data organization and documentation

• Perform account analysis and accounting functions to support the financial management of the company

• Manage company credit card charges and perform credit card reconciliation to ensure accurate records

• Handle daily cash receipts and bank deposits to maintain an accurate cash flow

• Code accounts accurately to ensure proper financial categorization. Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP solutions

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs

• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Dynamics NAV

• Comprehensive knowledge in account coding, account analysis, accounting entries, and accounting functions

• Experience with account reconciliation and accounts payable (AP)

• Ability to manage company credit card accounting including credit card charges, receipts, and reconciliation

• Experience with journal entries

• Proficiency in handling daily cash receipts, bank deposits, and credit card reconciliation

• Familiarity with Blackbaud software

• Understanding of accounting principles and regulations

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred

• Willingness to continue learning and improving accounting skills.
