Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity in the non-profit sector for an Accounts Payable Specialist in New York. This position is primarily office-based, and you will be a part of a team that ensures the smooth running of our financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process invoices in the accounting system, Sage Intacct.

• Carry out audits of invoices to ensure their accuracy.

• Maintain detailed documentation and accurate coding for all accounts payable transactions.

• Check payment processing to confirm correctness.

• Review both accounts payable and payroll invoices regularly.

• Resolve any discrepancies found in invoices.

• Liaise with vendors as necessary to manage accounts payable.

• Analyze accounts payable data to assist in financial decision making.

• Take on other tasks as assigned by your manager. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role within a non-profit organization

• Proven proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) operations

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve financial discrepancies

• Experience with coding and approving invoices

• Ability to handle and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner

• Excellent data entry skills, with a focus on accuracy and speed

• Proficiency in using Sage Intacct for financial management and reporting

• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in handling discrepancies in financial data

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with vendors and staff

• A commitment to adhering to all financial procedures and policies of the non-profit organization.
