BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Application Programmer IV for an opportunity in New York, NY!

Position Title: Application Programmer IV

Location: New York, NY

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Expected Duration: 12 Months.

Job Type: CONTRACT, HYBRID

Pay Range: $55/hr - $60/hr on W2

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).
Requirements:

* To execute review activities according to the instructions given by the Issues Lead and follow issues review documentation requirements.

* Develop test approach to leverage during review of assigned Issues

* To interact with business lines, control, and governance groups in order to gain understanding of business processes and controls.

* To fully comply with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

* Identifies deficiencies, discusses with line management, and initiates recommendations

* Establishes business partner relationships, primarily with line management, to develop business knowledge

* Executes QA strategy by executing sound QA practices, leveraging automation and innovative methods, and delivers in a timely and high-quality manner

* Exercises intellectual curiosity and judgment to effectively influence and challenge management to drive continuous improvements on QA

* Develops skills to use innovative tools to complete review activities more efficiently

Required Skills:

The key responsibilities / deliverables are as follows (but not limited to):

* First point of contact for end business users in Rates

* Ownership and delivery of on-boarding support of or processes into the MAPS organization

* Build and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders, application development personnel, and infrastructure contacts

* Monitoring and alerting of critical trading system environments

* Troubleshooting of complex systems issues

* Proactive identification and resolution of problem hotspots

* Development of tools and driving efficiency/stability improvements

* Accurate tracking of support effort to enable effective management reporting

* Release implementation and enforcement of change management policy

* Major Incident management and Problem Management

The suite of applications we support cover many different functional aspects of the business, including pricing and trade capture, risk generation and aggregation, market and reference data. The role will give the successful candidate exposure to the full front-to-back process from trade inception to feeding risk downstream. This is also an opportunity to work in a global team.

The core set of technical skills that are beneficial in the role are:

* Operating systems: Linux primarily

* ITIL Certification or performed in a role that demonstrates application of the principles

* Scripting languages: Unix Shell, Python

* SQL (intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results, stored procedures)

* Grid computing (e.g. Data Synapse), job scheduling (Autosys, Crontab) batch management

* Well rounded understanding of infrastructure disciplines (network, server, storage, messaging)

* Enterprise Monitoring - ITRS Geneos

* Documentation (Confluence)

* Experience with trading risk systems

* Familiarity with Bloomberg and Reuters

Personal Skills - must be resilient and confident working in a high pressure FO trading environment. Excellent communication skills essential. Leadership.

Relevant areas of business expertise would include:

* Product knowledge - Rates SME, greeks PV, Delta, Gamma and derivatives risk, Government Bonds, Agencies, Futures, Swaps, Inflation-linked products, US Treasuries and Bills

* Market data - yield curves, funding curves, volatility / correlation surfaces (general understanding / familiarity)

Nice to have

* Broadway, LIST, Valantic experience

* Familiarity or basic coding knowledge of Python, .NET, or Java applications

* Awareness of MiFid2 and its impact on pre-trade

* FIX protocol

* Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry
