Job Summary

The Fund Execution Team ( FET ) is a specialist team within IIG that uses their legal experience to support strategic decision making in the areas of investment vehicle management, capital raising, capital deployment, regulatory, governance and asset management (1) . FET works closely with fund raising, investor relations, finance, tax and other IIG teams, portfolio companies, internal JPMorgan Legal and Compliance departments, external counsel and other advisors to achieve commercial outcomes for stakeholders. FET is seeking a qualified attorney with capital raising and investment vehicle formation and management experience who is also excited to develop new capabilities including in respect of regulatory positioning and credit and hedging facilities.

The successful candidate will be a curious, motivated and proactive self-starter, with strong communication, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills, who has the ability to balance legal and commercial considerations and takes a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage with investors to facilitate capital raising and ensure investors' requirements are met;

  • Ensure appropriate risk management, governance, consistency and best practices in contractual arrangements with investors and investment vehicle reporting;

  • Work with IIG team, external advisers, JPMorgan legal and compliance and other JPMorgan stakeholders to bridge the commercial and legal discourse;

  • Assist in management of the independent board of the investment vehicle;

  • Learn new skills, including regulatory positioning and investment vehicle credit and hedging arrangements, as the vehicle and its portfolio companies evolve over time;

  • Demonstrate leadership within IIG ;

  • Facilitate IIG's relationships within the capital raising community; and;

  • Manage external legal counsel.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 5+ years of experience required

  • Qualified to practice law

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced international team environment;

  • Intellectual rigor and curiosity;

  • Commitment to continuous improvement;

  • Commercial acumen and strong analytical skills;

  • Strong and effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;

  • Willing and enthusiastic to learn about all faucets of the business and its stakeholders;

  • Demonstrate commitment to team values, ESG, strategic objectives, effective risk management and broader legal and compliance requirements;

  • Hands on problem-solving and trouble-shooting ability.

  • Extensive experience with global investor base

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Industry focus: Infrastructure preferred

  • Some in-house experience preferred
