Assistant Professor - Educational Foundations and Counseling Programs
FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Educational Foundations and Counseling Programs in Hunter College’s School of Education seeks candidates for a tenure track position in educational or developmental psychology effective Fall 2025.
Duties associated with this position include: 1) engaging in research, scholarly writing and grant work, 2) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in our Teacher Education and Educational Psychology programs, 3) serving on program, department, school, college and university committees, where appropriate, and 4) student advisement.
QUALIFICATIONS
All candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in educational or developmental psychology, or a closely related field. The candidate must be able to teach graduate-level courses in teacher education and educational psychology, including courses in quantitative research methods and/or applied statistics. The candidate should have a strong research agenda that relates to important questions in education about cognition, motivation, assessment, or human development. As a public urban institution, we also seek candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to work in multicultural and urban settings.
