Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to fill the position of Associate Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services, a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. This position is available in the following locations: Seattle, New York, Santa Monica.

Amazon Web Services is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, AI/ML, database services and more. This attorney will primarily support our North America Sales organization under the AWS Global Sales business team. This candidate will have transactional drafting and negotiation responsibilities on commercial agreements, will provide ongoing legal counsel to business leaders, will advise on regulatory and compliance issues, and will assist with marketing-related activities. The successful candidate will be a fast learner who is detail-oriented and customer-obsessed, and will be able to work independently and comfortably while making decisions in ambiguous situations.

As part of the team you will participate in team-wide meetings, departmental goals, and collaborative projects. In this role, you will have access and visibility to business leadership. We are a coast-to-coast team, with members in Seattle, New York, Toronto, and Santa Monica.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of legal experience

• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work

• Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent

• Strong analytical, written, and oral communication.

• Curiosity and a willingness to learn and grow in a team environment.

• Ability to demonstrate sound legal and business judgment.

• Ability to work independently and contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
