Simon & Schuster is seeking an Associate Director, Client Sales, Special Markets who will be a key strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth and ensuring superior service for our Distribution Clients within the Special Markets channel. This high-visibility role serves as the primary liaison between Distribution Clients, the Distribution Client Services team, and the internal Special Markets team.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Distribution Clients and the Distribution Client Services team for all Special Markets related matters.
Strategic Sales Leadership: Attend all client sales conferences, identify key title opportunities for each Special Markets channel, and develop targeted sales strategies to maximize revenue potential.
Performance Analysis & Reporting: Conduct monthly reviews of client sales performance across all Special Markets channels, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights to the four Special Markets Channel Directors to inform go-to-market strategies and achieve sales targets.
Internal Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate all pertinent news, updates, and client-specific information to the Special Markets team. Proactively communicate Distribution Client expectations for new clients to the relevant teams, ensuring a smooth and successful onboarding process.
Executive Reporting: Prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews to the Distribution Client Sales team, highlighting performance, key initiatives, and future growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years sales experience, account support management, or equivalent experience in a mid-size or large publishing company
Must have Special Markets experience
Ability to work well under pressure and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
Efficiency in multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
