Popular Private Client - NY

We are currently looking for an experienced ASSOCIATE PRIVATE BANKER with a proven track record in managing high net worth client relationships, to join our Wealth Management and Private Banking team. At Popular Bank we are dedicated to enhancing the well-being and wealth of our clients and their families!

In this position you will serve as the primary point of contact and relationship advocate for a select segment of clients within Popular Private Client. You will be responsible for advising families on building, preserving and managing their wealth and providing an exceptionally high level of client service.

In this position, you will:

• Use your knowledge and expertise of investments, financial planning, credit, and banking to both advise and guide Private Banking clients on all aspects of their financial priorities and drive new client acquisition

• Drive new business results though cultivation of existing clients as well new to bank clientele

• Conduct client needs assessments through continuous proactive client engagement and development of financial plans. Proactively manage relationships that focus on collaborating with other internal partners such as Mortgage, Investment, Insurance, and other banking specialists to develop and broaden customized Popular products and service solutions for each client relationship

• Partner with assigned retail branches to identify potential Private Banking clients

• Ensure that proposed solutions fulfill clients' needs and objectives in the short, medium and long term through a holistic goals-based planning approach

• Monitor current clients’ banking relationship deposits and loans to proactively maintain asset quality. Continually monitor client information, products, and market trends to identify new needs and opportunities

• Train and mentor Private Banking Service Officers and collaborate with branch personnel relative to training, customer service and referral practices

• Maintain knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation and regulations affecting banking and customer interaction to ensure that all transactions and customer relationships are handled in a manner consistent with laws and regulations

• Ensure a high quality and compliant portfolio of client relationships by working within audit, compliance and regulatory guidelines

To be considered, you will need:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Master’s degree highly preferred

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in high-net-worth relationship management

• Ability to develop complex credit relationships with high-net-worth individuals and corporations/partnerships to provide appropriate financial direction

• Strong business acumen with strong attention to operational policies and procedures combined with strong sales ability and persuasiveness

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Some travel will be required to visit client sites (20%+)

• FINRA Series 7, Series 63 & Series 65 or Series 66 and state insurance license are required within 90 days of employment

Salary Range Information

Our base salary for this position located in New York City generally ranges between $120,000.00 and $125,000.00​ annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits. Base salary may vary if position is based in other geographic locations.
