Job Summary:

The Senior Group Finance Manager (GFM) is responsible for managing multiple complex high-visibility Finance functions including the leadership of simultaneous significant projects. The GFM will provide strong leadership to his areas of responsibility, operate with a significant degree of autonomy and routinely interact directly with senor level executives.

Major Responsibilities:

  • If assigned to a line of business or corporate function, act as the functional unit liaison; Identify significant and unusual accounting and reporting issues relating to the line of business and propose and manage solutions to management .

  • Responsible for the functional unit accounting and reporting processes and ensure they are current to meet ongoing and new requirements as mandated by the Controller's Department.

  • Monitor and manage emerging risks and other issues that may have accounting and reporting consequences.

  • Work closely with functional line managers, risk managers and finance staff to interpret regulatory requirements, share information, and identify issues.

  • May lead on projects and review business requirements associated with new or modified systems which have accounting or financial reporting impacts.

  • Provide hands-on team leadership, management and coaching to staff

  • Ensure all processes for which the GFM has responsibility operate effectively and efficiently in a well controlled environment.

  • Manage complex projects effectively and efficiently in accordance with all bank governance and project management policies.

  • Generate ideas to improve processes toward best practices and provide strategic leadership to implement them subject to cost/benefit considerations and other factors.

Qualifications:

  • 10 plus years of relevant experience with organizations of at least equal degrees of size and complexity to the Bank.

  • Proven track record of leadership and effectiveness. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, problem solving and communication skills are essential.

  • Must be a critical thinker able to effectively advocate their position while maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.

  • Bachelors degree in business with a graduate degree preferred in a discipline relevant to the specifics of the position.

  • Professional certification in the field relevant to the position required/preferred. For example, a CPA certification would be generally required for a GFM assigned to the Controller's Department.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $190K - $227K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
