Description We are in search of a Controller to join our team located in New York, New York, operating within the Non-Profit industry. As a Controller, you would be tasked with managing financial statements, overseeing the month-end close process, and conducting the annual external audit. This role offers an exciting opportunity in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

• Manage the preparation of financial statements, ensuring they are in line with industry standards and regulations

• Conduct the annual external audit process, coordinating with external auditors and internal teams

• Utilize your experience with restructured and unrestricted funds to manage and allocate resources effectively

• Leverage your knowledge and experience within the Non-Profit industry to provide financial insights and recommendations

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards within the Non-Profit industry

• Develop and implement financial strategies in line with organizational objectives

• Provide financial advice and guidance to the management team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the organization

• Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to drive financial efficiency and effectiveness

• Utilize your CPA and/or MBA skills to enhance financial operations and processes. Requirements • Must have a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the non-profit industry

• Proven ability to handle month-end close processes

• Experience with annual external audits and financial statement preparation

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations

• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills

• Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing a team

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
